In fact for those who wish to observe the beach from a different angle, just a few kilometres from Cervia at Lido di Classe, there is a flying centre which gives you the chance to fly with ultra-lights or hang gliders, or experience the wonder of flying freely over the sea attached to a parasail.

Here you can also ‘fly’ while keeping your feet on the ground mesmerized by the beauty of the colourful kites, which can be admired every year at the free beach of Cervia and Tagliata. Make sure not to miss the unforgettable national and international kite festivals held annually. Here the two different schools of kite flying meet, the oriental school which uses natural materials such as rice paper and bamboo boasting many decorations including dragons, falcons, etc., and the western school which uses high technology materials such as resin, carbon fibre and glass fibre.

You can often see kite fliers on the beach on Sundays getting ready for the festival organised by Cervia Volante. The ‘athletes’ try to break records of altitude and provide the public with amazing displays featuring multiple, illuminated, power and fighter kites. The kites are enhanced by the designs of famous artists.
