"They come from the sea" is one of the best known and attended festivals in Europe, as well as the oldest puppet festival in Italy.
For the entertainment of children and adults, artists coming from all over the world, will perform their shows both with traditional and modern techniques in artistic communication, in various languages and styles. There will be shows in the Municipal Theatre, the Salt Store, the "Arena della Sirena" and in the squares and the streets of the eighteenth century town centre of Cervia.
The festival is also a veritable showcase for exhibitions, conferences, seminars and courses in puppetry.

Every year those personalities or artists who have contributed to "illuminate" puppet theatre in the world, are awarded with the "Sirena d'oro" prizes during the festival.
