Quality Tourism in Cervia: about 200 holiday apartments belonging to different categories and excellence-trademark awarded to 25 hotels offering higher-quality services and facilities than standard first-category ones.

In Cervia accommodation quality is certified
In line with its own hospitality tradition, Cervia promoted and launched a challenging project aimed at improving the whole accommodation system quality, including hotels and other accommodation facilities.
Cervia Municipality decided to elaborate a brand new accommodation system quality certification in order to offer tourists more warranties and better services.
Regional set of rules provides for a classification of business-run holiday apartments. There are three main categories: First, Second and Third, respectively rated with four, three or two suns according to their satisfying qualification requirements.
Cervia Municipality decided to extend such classification system to those apartments run by private owners and estate agencies. It therefore introduced a quality certification to be awarded to those excellent accommodation structures offering higher-quality services and facilities than standard first-category ones. These requirements are established by special municipal regulations, approved by Town Council's resolution 28th September 2006 No. 53
The Municipal Committee for the Hospitality Quality Project, made up of both internal and external tourism experts, instituted by Town Council's resolution 21st November 2006 No. 298, systematically checks whether declared services and facilities meet with those really offered and with quality requirements.
So far, no other certification of the kind was available in Italy. Together with environmental respect and urban quality it helps improve and certify local tourist offer.
