At present its extention covers 260 hectares plus 30 hectares of the Natural Park.
Even if its surface is reduced in comparison to the past, the pinewood in Cervia represents a haritage of great naturalistic interest, which offers the visitor enchanting landscapes and spots.
The vegetation is characterized by two kinds of Mediterranean trees: the so-called domestic pinetree producing pine-kernels (Pinus pinea), and the maritime pinetree (Pinus pinaster), as well as oaks, poplar trees and robinias.
The pinewood is divided into four zones (stazzone-capanna-dune-bassona) with over 32 paths to be explored.
