The Measure Stone is one of the most mysterious remains coming from Old Cervia. It is a monilith dated 1636 on which are reported all the measures which the inhabitants and the visitors as well had to follow in Cervia.
The stone carries the inscription"Vera matrice delle misure di Cervia" ("The real matrix of Cervia's measures") and among them there is the "Passo" for the measurement of fabric clothes and the "Quadrè", a simple tile for pavings, etc.
Not all the measures could be interpreted. Below the stone there was a beautiful fountain, which is now unfortunately very damaged.
