The square Pisacane is in the historical centre of the town and is also called "The Vegetable Square".
Its origin dates back to the early 1700s, when it was designed to be the inner court of the Town Hall, the sudden lack of funds did not allow the realization of it, and what should have been a luxuriant garden became instead a square where fruit and vegetable dealings took place.
Later the fish market, which is today in another building, was also opened there, as well as two wooden kiosks.
It has quite an irregular shape and it is at present one of the most characteristic spots of the town.
