The second consecutive gold medal gained by Italy in three years. The European Flower Contest Entente Florale awards a prize for the culture of landscape and green areas and environmental awareness in Europe.
Cervia "Garden city" gained the gold medal this year, after having won the national contest "Comuni Fioriti" (Municipalities in flower) in 2007.
International Jury's statement
The International Jury Entente Florale Europe highly appreciated the “Festival Garden” Activity, thanks to the originality and the quality of the features displayed in the mini-gardens, where one would appreciate beautiful and opulent seasonal blossoming.
Of particular mention are the urban gardens and natural spaces, which are perfectly integrated with surrounding area. The natural park represents an interesting educational project, with various didactic activities offered in addition to the marine program tourism, life blood of the city. All is cleverly created and maintained by efforts and persistence of the municipality and the entire resident population.
The International Jury assessed the participation of the town of Cervia a Gold medal.
