Ricci Pintino Augusto Italiano – "Trùcolo" (1890 - 1963)

Ricci Pintino Augusto Italiano – "Trùcolo" (1890 - 1963)

He was the old tinker of the town, with his melted metal he repaired faults in pans.

He was much loved by Grazia Deledda who in some tales refers to him as the "little man with a drop of tin".

All the local people still think of him as the soul of Cervia from the 20s to the 30s; in fact it is difficult to forget this little man who was so small but with such a heart of gold.

The younger generation, who never had the chance to meet him, often hear older people talk about him, there is also a memorial tablet at his house of birth, in Via XX Settembre number 125, in his memory.

You can still see his grave at the cemetery in Cervia, it is one of the oldest and smallest there, but in spite of its humble and semi-abandoned appearance there are always some fresh flowers on it, a sign that the local people have not forgotten him.
