Sunset in the saltpan, by electric boat
An evocative excursion in Cervia saltpan, to discover an uncontaminated and magical environment.
On board a very simple electric boat with wooden benches, we sail along Cervia saltpan surrounding canal to reach its heart.
Accompanied by an environmental guide we can walk along the banks, enveloped by the warm colours of the sunset.
Every season offers pleasant surprises.
Spring nature trail
Once we reach the heart of the Cervia Salt Pan, we can go down for a sunset walk.
Along the banks, the guides of the Visitor Centre illustrate the typical flora and plants of this saline environment.
And we, equipped with binoculars, can admire the landscape and the life moments of the animals living in this nature oasis.
In spring, it is easy to observe the birds hatching, courtship, care of the young and nest defence techniques.

Productive route in summer and autumn
On the boat trip to the heart of the saltpan, we have to stoop to pass under a small brick bridge.
We will discover the productive saltpan, we will discover why Cervia salt is called sweet.
We will be able to observe the silt, the artemia salina which favours the pink colour of the flamingos and taste the Salicornia which grows on the banks.
Wrapped in the warm colours of the sunset, it will be an experience to remember.

Departure point at Centro Visite Salina di Cervia, via Bova 61, Cervia.
Reservation is compulsory, please arrive about 15 minutes before the start of the visit.
Length of walk: about 400/500 metres, round trip.

The ticket includes binoculars for observing species on the nature trail and a helmet on the production trail.

The excursion by electric boat takes place along the Cervia Salt Pan's surrounding canal.
There are no waves, no seasickness.
- Depth of the surrounding canal: minimum 1.5 m, maximum: 1.8 / 2 m.
- Depth of the pools in the Salina: minimum 5 cm, maximum 30 cm.
