Artists between heaven and earth. Claudio Capelli "The heart in the wind
With the fifth exhibition Artists between Heaven and Earth, ARTEVENTO realizes the project designed for the celebration of 40 years of the Festival of Cervia and pays tribute to the art of its creator Claudio Capelli, painter, sculptor and Master of the wind.
Originally, the exhibition was to include a complete retrospective of the work of the artist who made Cervia one of the world capitals of kite flying. Subsequently postponed due to the pandemic, it was rethought and relocated to two separate venues. The exhibition presents a selection of works produced by Capelli from 1981 to the present day, i.e. in addition to his constant activity as organiser of the historic Italian event.
40 years of art not only "for the earth", including painting, sculpture and theatre, but also "for the sky", in the painting delivered to the flight of Capelli's kites, kept in the world's major museums and collections, and returned home to celebrate the important anniversary of the first festival dedicated to wind art and the longest-running international kite festival organised continuously by its creator for more than four decades...
Portraits for flying - Cervia Municipal Theatre
Gathered together for the first time, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the festival and by kind permission of the owners, the wind works created by the artist since 1994 and belonging to public and private collections in Italy, Canada, Korea, Japan, France, Germany, Indonesia, England, Holland, Kuwait, Switzerland and the USA.
Canvases and graphic works - Sala Rubicone
Alongside the installation of "portraits for flying" that observe the viewer as if from open windows in the clouds, or those painted kites that have helped to spread the aesthetic philosophy developed by Capelli at his festival, ARTEVENTO presents a selection of canvases and graphic works created by the artist between 1981 and 2021.
