Jazz in the city

A diffuse music project to invade the streets and roads of Milano Marittima with notes

Milano Marittima International Jazz Festival, logoJazz in the city, is a diffuse music project that will last three weeks and will narrate an immersive musical journey through Milano Marittima in the sounds of soul, funk and jazz. The project will culminate in the 2nd edition of the Milano Marittima Jazz Festival, from 15 to 16 July.

Starting from the Rotonda 1° Maggio, music will flood streets and squares with notes to envelop the whole town. Live performances by large and small bands, with turntables and musicians from Romagna with rhythm sessions and without, acoustic or amplified, will complete a varied and extensive line-up to accompany the second edition of the Milano Marittima International Jazz Festival.

Friday 24th June

Opening concert

On Friday 24th June, the festival will open with great guest Nick The Nightfly and special guests Karima and Alessandra Tumolillo.

Supporting them will be an exclusive resident band made up of the best interpreters of jazz music in Romagna: Marcello Sutera (bass), Alessandro Altarocca (piano), Fabio Nobile (drums), Luca Mattioni (percussion), Stefano Serafini (trumpet), Jerry Popolo (sax), Simone Migani (keyboards) with Rossella Cappadone and Messalina Fratnic as backup singers.

From 25th June to 12th July - on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays - from 6 p.m. to 11.30 p.m., various musicians will take turns on stages located in the central areas of Milano Marittima for a total of more than 30 performances throughout the entire period. To make listening to music even more enthralling and exciting, there will be a concert on the beach at the crack of dawn for an evocative blend of nature and music.

The Festival will be free of charge; there will be an unprecedented package for fans, a "jazz experience - limited edition" voucher allowing access to seats in front of the stage, meet & greet with the artists and a special pre-concert menu at participating restaurants. This is an innovative way of involving the shopkeepers in the centre of Milano Marittima, who are always keen to provide a high-level experiential offer for tourists.
