In Forli, the exhibition The Art of Fashion at the San Domenico Museums
The exhibition L'Arte della Moda (The Art of Fashion) juxtaposes works of art with several dresses that marked important historical moments from the Ancien Régime up to 1968, that is, up to the years of protest. Fashion has always been a source of communication, of change, of contemporaneity
Fashion also has a strong communicative value, clothes in fact, communicate social status, rank and identity, they create a correspondence between the wearer and the object worn.

Around 200 works will be on display, including paintings by Thomas Gainsborough, Jacques Joseph Tissot, Edouard Manet, Giovanni Boldini, Leo Putz, Lucio Fontana, Francesco Hayez, Giuseppe Molteni and many others. The juxtapositions between art and fashion in the latter period will focus on Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga. The exhibition will conclude with Italian fashion after World War II and the birth of Made in Italy with the illustrious names of Gianni Versace, Valentino, Armani and Prada.
"Throughout the exhibition," said curator Gianfranco Brunelli, "the portraits of the most famous artists will be in counterpoint to the clothes of the period, in some cases reconstructed on the basis of careful documentation and in others lent, as is the case for the paintings, by the world's major collections".
