Cervia's safe beach

Cervia's safe beach

Italy's safest beaches

A sea of safety in Cervia

Safe, welcoming and equipped beaches

Turret and lifeguard midge on the beach - Ph. Barbara Choleva

From protocols to certifications, the beaches of Milano Marittima, Cervia, Pinarella and Tagliata are the safest in Italy. A strict protocol for 9 km, a long stretch of fine sand, well-kept, welcoming, well-equipped, but above all safe.

All this is the result of a combination of different elements:

  • more than 70 sailors
  • 37 defibrillators
  • 2 quads
  • 55 turrets
  • 60 muskets

Lifeguard on the beach - Ph. Marina Previati

Red sailors

Red-clad sailors, the lifeguards, are professionally trained and equipped to act as health workers.

Thanks to constant training and the issuing of certificates, they are able to use rescue instruments, such as the 37 defibrillators present on the beach that runs from Milano Marittima to Tagliata.

Other tools are available to guarantee adults and children a carefree stay: turret, midge, life preserver, anchor, AMBU balloon, pocket mask, flippers, goggles, binoculars, medicine box.

The Cervia cooperative has introduced for the first time turrets and equipment such as the floating lifeguard, baywatch style, to improve lifeguard performance.

But that's not all, fundamental to safety is also the protocol for the use of the AMBU balloon, for breathing and resuscitation manoeuvres, which sees the involvement of three lifeguards from the turrets near the emergency, each with a precise task.

Safe sea

Guests' tranquillity on the beach is also guaranteed by a project for legality and safety, particularly with regard to combating commercial abuse.

The Coast Guard has two quads at its disposal for surveillance and monitoring of the coastline.
