Petite Messe Solennelle
In the beautiful Stella Maris Church in Milano Marittima you can listen to the Petite Messe Solennelle, another absolute masterpiece by the great Maestro Gioachino Rossini for soloists, choir, piano and harmonium. Rossini devoted himself to the composition of chamber and sacred music after the success of William Tell. Among his best masterpieces are the Stabat mater and the Petite messe solennelle, a brilliant and modern piece of music with a melody that would only later be assessed as a Rossini masterpiece.
The Petite messe can be considered Rossini's spiritual testament.
An exceptional cast of Soprano Raffaella Battistini, Mezzo soprano Patrizia Patelmo, Tenor Gian Luca Pasolini and Bass Francesco Alberto Bianchi the Quadriclavio Choir from Bologna accompanied on the Piano by Pianist Cristina Belotti and on the Organ by Pianist Pia Zanca under the magical direction of Maestro Lorenzo Bizzarri.
