ARTEVENTO confirms its collaboration with Fondazione PerugiAssisi by dedicating the afternoon of Saturday 4th October to the Peace Parade.
The parade starts at 6 p.m. from the Magazzino del Sale and arrives in Piazza Garibaldi, where the evening continues in the spirit of solidarity, with the aim of raising funds for the Palestinian people. The event is organised in collaboration with Coop Alleanza 3.0, Cervia Social Food, the “Tonino Guerra” Higher Education Institute in Cervia and Auxilia Onlus.
During the event, on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of the Lampedusa shipwreck, ARTEVENTO will promote the rescue of migrants in distress at sea and the theme of reception in collaboration with ResQ People Saving People and Mediterranea Saving Humans. There will also be a live video link with the city of Lampedusa to share memories of the 2013 shipwreck with some of its protagonists, from fisherman Vito Fiorino, who saved 47 people, to Pietro Bartolo, the healthcare worker responsible for first aid, as well as the testimonies of survivors and the words of Alessandro Rocca, author of the documentary film “A nord di Lampedusa” (North of Lampedusa).
The video link, as well as the contributions screened during the evening, will be provided by Cinema di Desert – a solar-powered mobile cinema – designed to share experiences of life, travel and migration and promote conscious and virtuous behaviour through art as a transformative tool.
On the same day, there will be live music and distinguished guests invited to spread information and awareness on the subject, such as Italian-Palestinian journalist Milad Jubran Basir and other witnesses.
