Cervia - European Market, view from above - Ph. Angela Raggi

In the old city centre of Cervia, for an entire weekend, shopping becomes international and offers an opportunity to know cultures and customs from various European countries. More than 150 street traders from all over Europe and other regions of Italy come together in Cervia to propose typical food and handicraft products of their places of origin. This event that has been hosted over the years by cities such as Manchester, Saragossa, Florence and Trieste, took place for the first time in Strasbourg in 1990.

About 100 traders from all over Europe and the Italian regions will meet in Piazza Andrea Costa in Cervia to offer typical gastronomic and handicraft products from their places of origin. These operators represent countries such as Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Ecuador, Egypt, France, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, India, Ireland, Israel, Lithuania, Mexico, Holland, Poland, Czech Republic, Russia, Senegal, Slovenia, Spain, Thailand, Ukraine and Italy.

A journey through the flavours of Europe

A stop at the gastronomic stands of Europe is a must.

From sweets made in the USA (muffins, pancakes and cheesecakes) to Dutch minicrepes, from pandolce from the Czech Republic to the Austrian Sacher, to Spanish churros and liquorice. Among the stands, it is a spectacle just to admire the large grills and fires on which traditional dishes from Europe and beyond are cooked, such as classic German frankfurters or fine Argentinian meat.
For lovers of more ethnic tastes, a taste of Valencian and Catalan paella or gastronomic specialities from Mexico is a must. Also worth mentioning are Spanish cured meats, French cheeses and wines, craft beers, biscuits from Brittany, teas, infusions and spices from around the world.

Italy has its Sicilian arancini and typical food specialities from Tuscany, Umbria, Piedmont and Puglia.
