What to do and see in Milano Marittima

Enjoy Milano Marittima among city, seaside and pinewood

A City Garden by the sea

The days in Milano MArittima are all different. Every day you can discover something new and be surprised by the beautiful corner of this resort.
The reference point for our trip is the heart of the town, the Rotonda Primo Maggio.

THE DESTINATIONS:

  • the city roads
  • the sea
  • the pinewood

THE CITY ROADS

From the Primo Maggio roundabout, head towards Viale Gramsci, the town's most central pedestrian zone, along which bars, restaurants and shops create an open-air shopping centre.
Halfway along it stands the Brückner Model, a work by the Tuscan sculptor Adriano Bimbi, and a fountain decorated with beautiful mosaics.

The tree-lined avenues are the guardians of history. With their Art Nouveau style, some of the small villas that gave life to the town still stand among the pine trees. Stopping to admire them is like taking a trip into the past, which is essential if you really want to get to know Milano Marittima.

Beyond the centre, it is worth taking a walk along viale Due Giugno and viale Giacomo Matteotti: long, quiet avenues that run parallel to the sea and the pine forest. Here, thanks to the many restaurants, hotels and shops of all kinds, you can find everything you need.

Finally, we recommend a visit to the Vialetto degli artisti (artists' alley), which from June to September is filled with works by designers, creatives and craftsmen from all over Italy, and to the thousands of colours of the Cervia Città Giardino flowerbeds, located in various corners of Milano Marittima.

THE PINE FOREST

From the Rotonda Primo Maggio, continue along Viale Ravenna until you reach the Stadio dei Pini, where you find one of the main entrances to the pine forest.

Inside, the wider and narrower paths are perfect for walking or cycling, while the "percorso vita", an open-air gym with exercise equipment, is ideal for sports.

In the green of the hundred-year-old pine forest there are attractions for young and old alike:

  • The Natural Park is a green oasis, home to various species of animals and plants, to be discovered along the paths dedicated to them and an ideal place for a picnic in nature. There is also the Vecchia Fattoria, a fenced-in area for direct interaction with domestic animals; and CerviAvventura, a park for nature and sports lovers with several trails suspended among the pine trees.
  • The House of Butterflies, located in via Jelenia Gora, is a 500 m2 tropical greenhouse. Open from March to November, with guided tours and workshops, it offers the opportunity to admire the colourful butterflies and various insects that inhabit it. A few steps away from the greenhouse there is also the Canoe Kayak Club, for canoe trips framed by the suggestive landscape of the pinewood, the Adriatic Golf Adriatic and the Tennis Club.
  • The Cervia Thermal Baths, an avant-garde establishment thanks to the synergy between modern thermal science and nature. For treatments, the "liman" and mother water from the nearby Cervia saltpan are used, precious elements for health and wellbeing.

Among the initiatives in which to participate are the ecological walks in the pine forest, guided tours with experts to learn about the flora and fauna.

Milano Marittima has been awarded the Blue Flag for the quality of its water and services. The bathing establishments are safe, well-equipped and offer everything, making the beach the ideal place for a carefree holiday.

A sunrise by the sea, a swim and lunch on the beach are the best ingredients for all-round relaxation. For sports enthusiasts, in addition to walking and running, yoga, sup, beach tennis and beach volleyball are some of the many sports that can be practised in the water and on the beach.

The new promenade is home to places of historical and natural interest: the sand dune, the World War II bunkers and dragon's teeth, while at the first crossroads, where the gully meets the sea, is the statue of the Madonna del Mare, a work by Alessandro Savelli.

The best time for your holiday? Always!

Milano Marittima welcomes you all year round.

  • SUMMER

The ideal season to live it to the full is Summer, when events, clubs, shops and a thousand activities animate the resort, while the sun warms the days, transforming the beach and pinewoods into natural paradises to recharge your batteries.

  • SPRING AND AUTUMN

For a break from the routine, Spring and Autumn are perfect for a relaxing weekend, a quiet walk by the sea and to attend some event.

  • WINTER

For those who don't want to give up the sea even in cold weather, Winter is magical. At Christmas time the show is guaranteed, Milano Marittima dresses up in lights to warm everyone's heart.
