Saltiness: the arcane of my saltpans

The Magazzino del Sale hosts an exhibition of works by Werther Morigi (1915-1990), a painter who established his studio in Milano Marittima in 1947 and exhibited there from 1952.
The theme chosen for this anthological exhibition is the Saltpan. Werther Morigi painted everything he found in his wanderings and stops: sunrises and sunsets, summers and winters, he even slept there, so as not to miss transitory moments, chromatic fleetingness, to save what remains after the resurrection of the sea and the deposition of salt.
More than thirty-three works from all over the world are on display, together with writings and testimonies by people who followed him in these experiences, including Umberto Eco, Giuseppe Ungaretti, Franz Madesani Deledda and Mario Luzi.
