Concluding chapter of the exhibition of works by Werther Morigi (1915-1990) dedicated to the arcane aspects of the Cervia Salt Pans.
Numerous mysteries hidden in the inspiring solitude that the painter found in these places are explored and revealed in eighteen oil paintings and frescoes on display in venues in the centre of Milano Marittima (the Hotel Palace is exhibiting the work depicting the romantic salt worker Agostino Finchi).
The in-depth study, following the impressive retrospective in July at the Salt Warehouse in Cervia, continues at the Morigi Historical Study. It creates a wonderful historical-pictorial osmosis narrated to curious visitors, enchanted spectators and lovers of the magic of the stories of salt.
Morigi, who has had a studio in the Adriatic town since 1947, also shows us, in his easels, the emphasis of the five “guard posts” that protected the salt pans in unusual seasonal, everyday and mysterious aspects. The “Devil's guard post” with the moon is seductive, where the painter spent troubled “divine” nights.
