A special day in the middle of summer.
Everyone waits for the evening with the hope of catching the flight of a shooting star.
It is the most romantic time of the year.
With a bit of luck, even the sea in love lights up and under the starry sky, offers that special, magical shimmer in the waves.
It is the time to make a wish and let it soon become reality!

On St Lawrence's Day, one bath is worth seven
Here's what tradition says
On this day, a bath in the sea is a must because tradition has it that on St Laurence's Day, a bath is worth seven.
Not only that, it is said to have therapeutic powers and help prevent winter ailments.
That is why in the past it was customary to come to the sea on 10 August with the whole family and even bring along some farm animals, to allow them a propitiatory bath.

In Cervia, the night of San Lorenzo is celebrated with fireworks on the beach.
In the afternoon, the traditional Town Band concert and the Bingo return to the historic Piazza Garibaldi.

Firework display

A show of great charm and fascination.
The cascade of lights illuminates the sea and shoreline in a crescendo of plays of colour and shapes of the most new and unusual kind, for a truly unforgettable night.
Special opening of bathing establishments
Cervia, Milano Marittima, Pinarella, Tagliata
from 8 p.m. onwards
Romantic dinners, an evening of music, partying and barefoot fun on the sand.
A cheerful atmosphere all along the coast, in hotels and bathing establishments, while waiting for the fireworks display, the highlight of the San Lorenzo Festival.
In the event of bad weather, the fireworks display will be postponed to Monday 11st August, 11 p.m.
