Tuesday 27th May, 8 p.m., at the Riviera dei Pini, comes the Torta della Zitella.
Six local bakeries join forces to make a special Torta Zitella (old maid's cake), which will be unveiled at the Riviera dei Pini on Viale Sicilia, opposite number 68/70.
For those who wish to taste the cake, slices will be on sale for all those with a sweet tooth. The cake will be accompanied by wine tastings at the following participating venues
- Bar Stella
- Bar Canapino
- Ranch Restaurant
The party starts in the afternoon: from 5 p.m. opening of the creative market La via delle cose Dimenticate.
The Spinster's Cake (Torta della Zitella)
This is a cake made of almond flour with pine nuts, sponge cake soaked in Alchermes and blackberry jam. The cake was created by students and professors of the Tonino Guerra Hotelier Institute in Cervia as a traditional cake for the Marriage of the Sea.
The event was made possible thanks to the collaboration of Ascom, CNA, Confesercenti, Confartigianato, and Cooperativa Bagnini Cervia, and is organised by the Pro Loco Riviera dei Pini.
