Tuesday 16th May, 8 p.m., comes the Torta della Zitella. Six local bakeries join forces to make a special Torta Zitella (old maid's cake).
The Spinster's Cake (Torta della Zitella)
This is a cake made of almond flour with pine nuts, sponge cake soaked in Alchermes and blackberry jam. The cake was created by students and professors of the Tonino Guerra Hotelier Institute in Cervia as a traditional cake for the Marriage of the Sea.
